Early years:
Linda Love is no amateur when it comes to the world of radio and hip-hop. Proudly born and raised in Heavy-D’s hometown nostalgically known as “money-earnin’ Mt. Vernon”, Linda Love had her ear tuned into New York City radio very early on. She distinctly remembers hearing the major disc jockeys of the time coming through loud and clear over her bedroom radio and imagining as a young girl, “I wonder if I could do that?”
Radio Days:
But, it was as a freshmen on the college campus of Siena College where Linda became part of the most recognized hip hop station in the capital region at the time, 88.3 WVCR The Saint. There, Linda learned her skills as a radio personality, broadcaster and promoter from 1991-2001. She became known as the “Quiet Storm” diva to her listeners, hosting slow jam shows, as well as hip hop shows, mixshows, and even a contemporary jazz show. In 1998 WAJZ JAMZ 96.3, Albany Broadcasting Company owned, came onto the scene as Albany New York’s first commercial hip hop and R&B station. Linda Love joined the team in 2001 as the station’s Morning Show Producer for the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show as well as an on-air personality on the weekends & Mixshow Producer & Co-host. Linda Love rocked the airwaves on JAMZ 96.3 from 2001-2012 & 2016-2020, with 2 cycles as the Midday hostess aka “The Midday Mami” sending her love across the airwaves from 10am-2pm, hosting the Back In The Day Buffet Lunch Hour with throwback jamz. Linda Love also did Middays, Nights & an R&B show for Townsquare Media’s hip hop station HOT 99.1 from 2012-2016. In 2020, Linda Love joined 247 Urban Hits Radio, an online streaming international platform as a Radio Personality, Voiceover & Imaging Talent, Promotions & Marketing Manager. This is her new home so tune in & turn up everyday from 6am until 2pm!
Underground circuit:
Linda Love was also a member of the DJ & mixtape circuit as a member of The NoizeMob DJs hosting “Lil Kim- The Black Madonna”, “R&B Fantasy Volume 1” & “Mr & Mrs Hov”. And Linda Love was also inducted into the female movement known amongst music industry elites as The MurdaMamis, exhibiting girl power across the entertainment spectrum.
Awards & Achievements:
Linda Love was The Southern Entertainment Awards nominee for “The #1 Female Personality” & “Personality of the Year (Middays)”. She has also been featured in Ozone Magazine, as well as on MTV.com Mixtape Mondays in excess of four times.
As a commercial voiceover, imaging talent, radio diva and mixtape host, she keeps the airwaves lit, never ceasing to entertain her listeners and always showing love.
